Old Buck Gooter News (back)
"Because old news was good news!"
Hey alright! How's it hangin'?
We have been busy just taking it easy this summer, playing some shows here and there and working on new material. We're excited about the new album! We're always excited about the new album! This is not news!
We are playing
(too many) local shows in the coming months as well as hitting the road a little
bit. Seeing some TN folks in AUG and then doing some east coast madness to get
to PUFFERS 3 and back in Sept! Scope the list up there.
Music times! Billy has been busy working with some various projects that don't have websites, only some youtube. CANDIDATE DEMO is his duo with John Sgroi. These two used to be in KILL YR BRAIN together. CD has been jommin, trying to get it together, recorded their set the other week in Philly with the inimitable KELLZO. YARDANG is billy's solo lo-fi trance music thing. Playing out, eschewing the newsfeed, these projects are at this point.
BUCK GOOTER TURNED EIGHT YEARS OLD IN JUNE!
YO YO HEY! Long time no talky. Well, we did that European Tour thing and it was great. Still recovering from it but I get the feeling that it will be a lifelong process of recovery. Huge thanks to Armin for all the trouble he went through booking the shows, driving us around, being our guide and translator and dealing with us in general. It's a tall order at times and he ruled and we are very thankful, again. Buy some stuff from him, if you feel so inclined. Some pictures were posted to the instagram thing if you want to see what little bits and pieces of the experience looked like.
SO now - what? Well we have been slogging away at some new material, which is sounding good. Played a song live on the Euro tour and we'll play more new stuff out on these June dates I imagine. Looking forward to hitting the road a little bit in June. Unsure of more summer plans, may just take it easy and try to beat the heat by getting all angry and heated over new stuff. So it goes.
Some recent good reviews have cropped up for the band and for WITCH MOLECULES, let us bring your attention to this one and see what you think...
Thanks for reading this,
Hello there. We hope you're doing well.
We just got back from a tour with HURRICANE OF LOVE. It was a damned good time! Lots of madness abounded and we made it up and around in mostly one piece. Here we are at home not really chilling because we have some VA shows in early March and Billy's doing his ROM B thing live later in the month to celebrate a split tape release with MANNEQUIN HOLLOWCAUST, then another BG show at the end of the month and then EUROPE in April! A busy year so far. No complaints here.
Hey if you
are reading this and live in Eastern France and want to pay us to come play
your town please get in touch. The Euro tour is tightened up niceley except
for two shows which should/could take place in Eastern france April 14-15. A
shot in the dark, I know, but what the hell? paris could work too, maybe...
These past few tours have not gone w/o a fair share of internet documentation. Check out some cool photos of us in Chicago by John Mourlas here and a very well edited live video by White Coil Visuals from a recent Philly show. Many thanks to these fine gentlemen for the visuals!
Thanks for reading this,
Excellent! 2013 has been good so far and we have lots of stuff on the horizon, mainly shows, but we're also starting to work on new matieral and that feels good!
Internet-wise we keep content flowing on the Tumblr pretty regularly- which catches echoes from the instagram and also echoes out to the twitter. What would that sentence mean to someone who timewarped here from 100 years ago? Anyway, if you're looking for more regular mundane updates you can check those spots.
for our US and EU tours. I think Isaid that already.
Well, since last we spoke our new album WITCH MOLECULES has arrived on eastern shores via X-MIST. We will have them for sale at upcoming shows until we run out. You can stream the whole album in video form above in the embedded playlist.
We will be touring the cities in January and then the south/mid/canada/east in February w/ HURRICANES OF LOVE. Then most likely Europe in April. 2013 is looking good from here. 2012 was amazing, though, for sure. Thanks to everyone who was a part of our experience of it.
Bye bye Baktun. We'll see you on the other side.
Weary internet reader!
Thanks for making your way to this Buck Gooter site yet again. We have been busy and then not busy. It's been good.
The new LP, WITCH MOLECULES, is set for a January release at the latest via XMIST! We'll have LPs in hand in time to do some new year raging, me thinks. Up at the top of the page is an embedded playlist that will eventually populate with all the songs/videos for the album. Keep an eye on that and take a taste of what's up now!
And finally, FULL DISCLOSURE ABOUT SOCIAL NETWORKING: So the myspace page has existed for eons, we didn't create but we took it over after a while and now we've abandoned it. Don't ever go there. We set up a TWITTER and INSTAGRAM account for the band. Follow us if you will. And someone set up a BG facebook page a while back and we have since taken control over it and after some hesitation began updating it regularly a few months ago. Now apparently Facebook wants any asshole that tries to promote stuff to pay to get impressions on the site or something, which makes sense, but we won't be dipping into the band fund for any of that so if you follow us on there and you want to follow us then make sure you follow us correctly or specifically. Comprende? YOUTUBE IS A GLORIOUS THING! SUBSCRIBE TO US ON THERE! The soundcloud is embedded above, need to add new tracks to that one day maybe. And the tumblr trucks along in tumblr land. We haven't signed up for anything else that I'm aware of, FYI, and if you're still reading this you must care.
We're playing a handful of VA gigs this month and we'll end the year with some weekend jammers in December. In 2013.... who knows!!?!?
Thanks again for getting here,
We are pleased to announce that our new album, WITCH MOLECULES, will be released on LP by Germany's X-MIST/Beau Travail labels in the next couple of months! We will be releasing videos for each song so the whole album will be available for streaming on the youtubes. Take a look at the video for the title track by clicking here!
September and early October are chock full of shows so check out the list and come on out if you're near. We're stoked to be hitting the road with super-heavies SUPPRESSION and analog lightsmith LORD CANDY DISH!
Well hello there. Fancy meeting you here.
Since the last time we spoke on this space we've been busy. We recorded a new album w/ Don Zientara @ Inner Ear and it went well! It will be released one day, somehow, details forthcoming.
Actually some details (and a track) appear in this video of us on the 86 REALITY Tv show. Click.
What an amazing show! We were very thankful to be asked to be apart of that. Thanks again to the 86 Reality team!
In other news, we'll be jamming some here in late August and in September we're excited to appear at the 2nd PUFFERS FEST in Providence and we'll do a little tour w/ SUPPRESSION to Cropped Out Fest in Louisville. The October dates for that tour and beyond are still wallowing in the TBA mire but they'll grace this page soon. Some good stuff to be had.
Also there's a BUCK GOOTER twitter account now. Some shame in that game but that's life.
How was everyone's 7/11? Brains still frozen?
All is good in the land of Buck Gooter. We have a new set of songs ready to record in August, to be released in some form or fashion imminentl,y more news on that soon.
Our friend Christopher Feltner interviewed Bill Brat (in MAY) about the band. Click for that.
We'll be jammin' with his band, Degollado, on August 14 in Richmond. This will be an after party for a live TV show we're to play that's being set up by some talented Richmonders, 86 REALITY. Check out their page.
Shows are abundant enough for the rest of the summer and in the early fall we'll travel to Kentucky for the Cropped Out Fest. More deets TBA on that, we may play a few more shows on that trip, the crystal ball is cloudy at this point.
Thanks for reading this, you're the best!
Hello! Our recent tour went very well. What a treat to hear MOUNDS 11 nights in a row and Black Pus for four in a row! Read ol PUS-head's account of the tour here. Check out some cool vids of us jammin' here and here. Here's MOUNDS filmed in a Bakshi-esque style.
We'll be re-tracing our steps to Chicago in June as well as jammin w/ some old pals in NC (and elsewhere) in July. We're currently working on new material and it's going pretty well.
Thanks for reading this,
Thanks for checking this site. We've got a stacked set of dates in April w/ our good friend Tom Hohmann AKA MOUNDS. Well, it'll be a duo, he and a cat named DJ on synth. Come on out and see us and tell all your friends in those towns to check us all out. Pretty much everything is set up, there's a couple gaps TBD, get in touch if you're wondering about those and we'll keep you up to date on the particulars.
LPs still exist and we'll have them with us on the road, as well as tapes and CDs of CONSIDER THE GRACKLES and most of our other albums. If you want to order one you can get LPs from KREEPHAUS and paypal $7 to email@example.com for a tape or cd (shipping is killer).
RAT ON! Just droppin a note to say we have some Feb/March shows scheduled and then in April we'll be doing a tour w/ Mounds (Tom Hohmann from USAISAMONSTER) and Black Pus will join us for four of those dates. See the whole smelly list below, we're still filling in gaps but it should be good!!
Leaving the news up below for anyone interested in checking out our new album, Consider the Grackles. It's now available on iTunes and lots of other internet places, by the way.
Happy new year!
Our new album, CONSIDER THE GRACKLES, was officially released on the first via KREEPHAUS. This is the first Buck Gooter vinyl LP. We're pretty happy with it. The covers are screenprinted, some black and some red, not sure what the numbers will be in the end but 210 were pressed for all of you folks keeping count. The LPs also include a lyrics sheet (another happy first for the band). Take a look:
You can listen to some tracks in the player at the top of the page and watch a video too while you're at. Order the LPs direct from KREEPHAUS. If you want a CD copy you can paypal $7 to firstname.lastname@example.org.
BG has received some decent press recently. First an article about CTG on Impose. Then a glowing review of the Devil Worship 7" on the 7INCHES blog and a decent shout about the same slab on Terminal Boredom (scroll appropriately).
Buck Gooter will travel under the Moon of Hard Times dispensing these phonographs
to various eastern U.S. population nodes. The specifics are listed below.
Yes siree-bob! BG has completed work on their new album! It is called CONSIDER THE GRACKLES.
Got that? The proceedings were laid down in a warehouse in Philadelphia by our dear friend Kevin Riley! Thanks, Kev! YES! Tapes and CDs are currently being manufactured and one other format is a possibility at this point!
In other release news: we will be putting out a live DVD of our 200th show sometime soon. Excellent multi-camera footage shot by Kevin Riley and James Travis III. And on top of all that, Turtle is currently compiling decades worth of poetry that we're going to put out in book form.
TT aficionados take note!
Keep an eye on this page and the Tumblr for all the late breaking real news but it's all coming soon. SOON!
Come see us play some shows in NOV!
We had a good tour to Chicago and around and back! Check out this video of us jammin in South Bend, In.
Plans are in the works to record in Philadelphia in October! The new album will follow shortly thereafter.
A bunch of local shows have materialized, including a double header on Sept. 10. The fecund valley during school times...
If you have navigated to this site after reading that recent MRR review, thanks!
THE RUDE TRIP IS APPROACHING! 8/17-8/24. CHECK IT OUT!
I might add that ELEVEN! new songs will be played throughout the setlists for this trip. I can't believe it either.
WWW.BUCKGOOTER.COM is the real deal! The memorable route to the Goot.
MUCH FUN WAS HAD ON A SHORT SOUTHERN JAUNT LAST WEEKEND! THANKS TO ALL!
A few dates have been cobbled together for the summer. Gonna go to Chicago and back home. Check them out.
Shirts have been re-printed! Get yours today by paypal'ing $12 to email@example.com. Specify size. Or you can mail that $crilla to PO BOX 113, HBURG, VA 22803. Click for a pic!
Rollins played SATAN on his show recently! Thanks, man! Awesome!
Stay fiercely up to date w/ the GOOT via TUMBLR. It's the only modern day internet thing we embrace with a bit of sincerity. Headlines from that tumblr spot can be viewed by scrolling to the bottom of this page.
Thanks and come see us in a few major metropolitan areas in August!
Haven't updated this space in a while but there is much to report!
We're proud, amazed and excited to note that we have a split cassette out with Erode & Disappear. Click the link for deets or paypal $7 to firstname.lastname@example.org for a copy.
(That said, mail order prices are going up! We can stand it no longer, Postage costs and paypal rapery are making us shoot the sliding scale up to $7-10. Please send that much for disks.
Dig deep, folks.)
We're also very happy to report that Buck Gooter is working on a new album. Nine tracks have formed so far and we'll put together a few more, cap it, rehearse and hopefully record in September. YES!!
We'll get a chance to "road test" some or all of these jams in July and August. Crazy weekender tour to Chattanooga in July and a longer weekender (does 6 days count as a tour?) trip to Chicago in August with holes (hopefully) to be filled or we're fucked.
And next weekend we'll embark on a trip to Providence to play the wild Puffers Fest. The curator of said fest, B. Aspirin Lopez, hollered about BG on the Providence radio recently and played a rare T. Turtle jam. Check that out by clicking here.
We made a Soundcloud page a while back. There's a few things on there of possible interest and it gets updated from time to time.
I think that's it! Thanks for reading this!
How we loved ye.
The shows this month have all been quite wonderful. Our trip north was excellent! Thanks to everyone involved for making it happen the way it did. No thanks to exits 8-6 Southbound NJ Turnpike. Get it together already!
In Philadelphia we recorded five songs with the inimitable and quite wonderful KEVIN RILEY. These tracks will see the light of day as part of a split cassette release with Kevin's band ERODE & DISAPPEAR. We're excited to share some chrome with such good friends and their excellent band!!
This cassette should be out in time for E&D's June tour w/ Stinking Lizaveta. Keep your eyes completely peeled.
Also in Philadelphia we played our 200th show and it was filmed on two different cameras and plans are in the works to edit it and release a 200th show dvd. WHY THE HELL NOT?!
We're not playing in Greensboro this weekend but we are playing in Blacksburg, the last "Record release Show" for the Devil Worship 7".
Alrighty! The Devil Worship 7" is now available from Flannel Gurl Records! The best way to order it at this point is to paypal $7 to email@example.com. You can paypal us the same amount and we'll try and smuggle you one too. COOL!
BEYOND THE ROTTING LEAF is now out on tape! Check it out!
Henry Rollins threw us on a short list in the LA WEEKLY.
Other than that, April's heating up w/ shows. A couple bad ass gigs as well as a few more TBAs.
I, BRAT BRAINS, WILL NO LONGER KEEP MY LOVE OF TUMBLR A SECRET. PLEASE CHECK OUT BUCK GOOTER'S TUMBLR PAGE.
There's probably more good news on the way. Keep an eye on this spot if you can spare it.
Ok, so it can be said:
FLANNEL GURL RECORDS, a new label out of Blacksburg, Va will release a Buck gooter 7" vinyl record called DEVIL WORSHIP in the next couple of months. This slab is an exploration in devotional and bizarre worship music. Like a gospel record from
We're quite pleased with this as it'll be our first vinyl release and dealings with a label, as humble as it all may be. There'll be much activity and info regarding this little platter in the coming weeks.
Until then and beyond, we RAT ON!!!
Welcome to 2011!
Good things are afoot.
We have a few shows this month to start the new year off right. We may have more and more and more?
Ok, alright! New website design! Can you feel that? We wanted to spruce up the joint a little bit since myspace is pretty much useless at this point and we had to figure out some practical way to use the photo to the left of Cliff spitting in my face.
The "Gallery" and "BIO" pages are new! Check them out! If anyone out there wants to write a better BIO, be our guest!!
This website is quite the repository (and maybe suppository?) of BG info so take a look around? there's more being added somewhat regularly! Always point people to this page if you think of it. There's tunes, photos, etc. What more could you want?
As the internet BURNS we have burning tracks fresh on AMAZON MP3 for your purchasable download amusement! Use those gift cards wisely!
Read a review of "BEYOND..."
by TIM GREENE...
Some exciting (to format fetishist/band and label folks alike) developments are happening which may not be able to be discolosed completely at this time but you could probably figure it out if you try hard enough.
That's all the useless
news for today!
The New Buck Gooter album, BEYOND THE ROTTING LEAF is out now! We'll have it at upcoming shows and it'll be available from Amazon MP3 real soon, hopefully. This selection was recorded by THEE MIGHTY BOOK OF KILLS and mastered by Don Zientara. Eliza Childress did the cover art and a visualizer was made for the first track, "The Banquet". Peep both in the space here ---->
2010 has been a good year for BG. Fifty shows, two albums, lots of good times. Pat yourselves on the back for the hell of it.
Buck Gooter prepares to record their new batch of songs NEXT WEEK! My how time flies. We'll "reveal" the title soon. If you've spoken to Terry in the last 6 months he probably told you already. Otherwise, hang on...
In anticipation of the new album and in light of the fact that the MP3 page hasn't been updated in a long while there's some NEW tunes up there. A few are from DOGFOOD TOWERS and there's also an exclusive practice demo of a new song called EVIL. Click to check it out.
Welcome to 2010!
BG will embark on a few mini-tours once the album is released. Dates - tentative and booked - are listed to the right.
Tonight's gig at the BLUE NILE in HBARF will be the scene of the premiere of a few new songs never played live before! You won't be there but you'll get to hear them on the NEW ONE...
Also, for the first time in the band's five year history we have
to sell! They're like $12. Send money to the PO box. We're not going to attempt to sell them online, just FYI.
The GOOTER HOLLOWCAUST SUMMER TOUR 2010 was mostly fun. Maybe it should've raged for only 7 days instead of 10. Oh well. live a little and learn less.
Band fund depleted, long stretches of HARRISONTURD TIME on the horizon, peppered with diversions listed to the right. Maybe we'll finally record this new album. Maybe before the year is done.
Some press/reviews. HERE. and HERE. Possible synopsis of each forthcoming!? So you don't have to bother reading them? Just more (un)satisfied customers. You have to scroll a little bit in the second one and we're listed alphabetically in the first.
We've been busy.
Playin, practicin', writin, BOOKIN'!
We will embark on the 2nd ever GOOTER HOLLOWCAUST SUMMER TOUR at the end of this month. All dates w/ MANNEQUIN HOLLOWCAUST (DUH!) Check out the (finally) finalized dates to the right. It's gonna be a fun trip!
Thought about getting together some exclusive "tour merch" but been busy with real damn things to tend w/ that. Maybe a live bootleg cassette will surface. BIG MAYBE!
Some newish videos have surfaced that aren't half bad. THIS and THIS (audio's fuct on this til 15mins in-ish)
Come see us play!
Okey dokey! Lots of goings on, or so it seems, in the show world. Springtime is trying to happen, we'll embark on a couple weekend warrior campaigns the next few weeks. Both above and below.
In the summertime we've been invited to a couple cool, offbeat fests. We're also planning to do another 10 day tour with the inimitable MANNEQUIN HOLLOWCAUST at the end of July. if you have any great ideas about that, email us..
Also, we set up a TUMBLR page as a sorta catch all/more up to the minute news/blog bullshit forum. It seems mildly entertaining.
New material is being hammered away at. it's going good, thank you...
Updates to the site! More shows! Oh my!
You can buy the new Buck Gooter album, DOGFOOD TOWERS, on AMAZON MP3. Just click.
Mail cash to PO BOX 113, Harrisonburg, VA 22803 for obsolete formats.
To hear BG goin' apeshit LIVE in Richmond recently click here.
The new Buck Gooter album, DOGFOOD TOWERS,
has been recorded and will soon be sold in the form of compact disc/downloads. Who will buy? A cassette currently exists.
The website should certainly be updated to reflect this. One day.
FEBRUARY will see us play a few shows. Perhaps you will too.
New live tape out now! It's like a BG greatest hits only.. not!!
Some November shows have been scheduled sorta last minute away from HAIRYBARF...
Couple live cuts in the MEGAMIX.
Check out the collaboration track between Billy and NORTHERN LIBERTIES! #11 ON THE PLAYER AT THIS LINK!
NEW ALBUM (KINDA) SOON. WE'RE TAKING OUR TIME, DAMMIT! COME SEE A SHOW IF YOU WANNA HEAR SOME NEW STUFF.
sorry for the caps, i'm too lazy to fix...
Long time no news!?
The tour w/ Mannequin Hollowcaust was wonderful. Excellent time.
A live tape featuring recordings from that trip is currently in the works!
Bunch of local shows (barf) to the right.
New "studio" album in the works too! Contemplating setting up the dictation recorder and geting the set that way. All raw and poppin. Real plans are to venture to Inner Ear Studio and have Don Z. try his hand at helping us sound passable!
New tunes at the forthcoming gigs! YES!
Buck Gooter's 10th album, RAT ON!! exists in this world and possibly others.
The band continues to operate and updates the somehow easier(?) myspace page regularly. again, for shame.
A tour with Mannequin Hollowcaust is scheduled to proceed at the end of August.
An exclusive BG track is featured on the Chaotic Underworld Noise VOl. 4 comp. Terry plays keyboards on this one!!
New TT and ROM B albums are in the works too. YES!?
Why aren't you listeneing to the megamix?
Wow, long time since this space has gotten any play. We've been busy as usual, playing shows and setting them up and writing new stuff and all that fun crap.
Believe it or not, a lot of activity has been occurring on the BG myspace page after we finally gave in and took over the reins and starting to use it a little bit to book and send out news. For shame.
Playing lots of places in the coming months. check it out.
Also we're switching web hosts so lots of links may be weird for a bit while we tidy up.
Buck Gooter's ninth record called
can be downloaded for free by clicking on this block of text.
We fixed the way we're hooking you up with previews, singles, whatever. There's a music page now with a player on it and there's some BG standards and random BG related tracks too. Hopefully we'll find it in our hearts to update it every so often with oddities, live trax and such.
Another year, another 3 albums. WOOHOO! Here's to 09. Stay safe? Stay sick!
News for the hell of it this time:
Dischord is carrying copies of BG's What Da Hell? DVD. Pick it up, there aren't many out there.
Billy has completed a solo record called ROM B.
Buy that one while you're at it.
See Terry Drinking pickle brine.
BG is featured in Henry Rollins's new book "Fanatic Volume 3". Grab Your copy today!
Oh yeah, new material for BG's NINTH album exists and should and will be recorded soon we hope.
LOOKIT! A hot steaming pile of press:
-MADZ E-ZINE, a Russian web zine, wrote up the flick, reviewed Welcome... AND the cave thing, and interviewed us at length (part two).
-No-Core Blog giving the "what's up" on the documentary.
- Heathen Harvest has an uncanny understanding of BG.
-Nailgunmedia interviewed us and we were verbose.
-Henry played us again on his fabulous radio show. Rock in roll!
Shows set for SEPT, hopefully more in OCT. FUCK AUG.
Our intrepid filmmaker friend Ben Dansby has completed his documentary on Buck Gooter entitled "What Da Hell? A film about Buck Gooter".
You can watch the high def version in its entirety HERE (just click "what da hell" up top), OR you can watch it to the left.
And you can still download two new Buck gooter records for free.
And buy everything else.
So here's the deal:
Buck Gooter has just released TWO, count em, TWO albums for FREE download HERE.
Welcome To The Last Day Of Your Life,
the latest installment in the documentation of Buck Gooter's weird rock, is also available on compact disc (what?! huh) and if you want one let us know.
There's some shows coming up, amazingly.
The Buck Gooter collection of songs referred to in brief as an "album" which holds the specific title of "Bad Vibrations" is now available from ITUNES and other nefarious - and perhaps Russian - digital download services.
In more release news, CNP Records included the track "Animal" on their hit compilation "Killer Workout Mix". This is a must-buy for the archioves.
In an effort to be more informative and content-rife, there are now individual pages for every single BG record available for navigation through the WHAT DA HELL? discography page.
A June weekender in the usual spots with the usual suspects is planned as is another record.
Yippy skippy son!
The new Buck Gooter album, SLUGS, is now available for purchase from Interpunk and the Buck Gooter Music Band Paypal Affiliate, along with EVERY OTHER BUCK GOOTER ALBUM in print. Thanks to Fulmer for the great artwork for the record.
You can go to the SLUGS page and read a fake tracklist and look at some concept art by Deanne. Lame!? Well, that's what we've got so far.
ALSO: Bad Vibrations had the piper paid and can be purchased from CD BABY for a mean sum but also, soon, will be available from some huge online music retailers that have grown increasingly popular in the parlance of our times. The cool thing about CD BABY is you can get a preview of EVERY TRACK from that album if you're super wishy washy about your purchases.
We've finished recording a new album. This time the man behind the knobs was good old Casey Firkin of Sleepfeeder fame.
We're currently in the process of getting our shit together to release this biotch but until then there's some recent video posts on Youtube that kind of promote the last album, Bad Vibrations, and preview the new album... (We'll tell you the name of it soon enough). The one to the left is the cream of the crop but there's another one that can be found HERE.
Here we are. December 2007. Buck Gooter is pleased to announce the release of yet another album. This one's called
and that makes
for three in one year folks!
So we're clipping right along, hope you are too. You can buy any of our records by clicking the links at the top of this new front page.
If you want "BAD VIBRATIONS" right now, send $5 to:

Buck Gooter has confirmed a small tour in June. There will be a pause in touring activities over the summer due to work issues. Expect more dates in September?

Buck Gooter has unleashed their third album, "Woman President" on Blacks Run Records. The proceedings were recorded by the illustrious Jim Nipe (www.bookofkills.net) whose 30+ years of home recording experience helped the process out immensely. Buy His stuff right now.
